Press Release: November is Charity Month

CALGARY, November 1, 2021 – Willow Park Wines & Spirits (WPWS) is excited to announce the kick-off of their 2nd annual Charity Month. The program launches Thursday, November 4 through Wednesday, December 1. Fundraising activities will take place with weekly ‘Charity Sales Days and an online silent auction. Monies raised will support organizations yearning for relief in those fighting cancer, poverty, and unimaginable tragedies.

“All year long we work with many charities to support their fundraising efforts,” says Peggy Perry, President of Willow Park Wines & Spirits. “Come November, we focus all our energy on a select few that have a deep connection to the Trusted Experts and our community.”

Each charity will have ‘Charity Sales Days’–they are live for seven days with 15 per cent of proceeds going to the featured charity. Te Soley Haiti School Project by Mario Bollag will start the program on Thursday, November 4 through Wednesday, November 10. A variety of wines, beers, and spirits will be on sale at WPWS’s online store (willowparkwines.com) and at the Willow Park location (10801 Bonaventure Drive SE). Wellspring Calgary, Canadian Women for Women in Afghanistan (CW4WAfghan), and Alberta Cancer Foundation–in support of the Calgary Cancer Centre, will take part in the following weeks. The Mustard Seed Ogden Hub and the Poppy Fund will also receive funds raised in the online silent auction.

“We’re excited to be a chosen charity once again by Willow Park Wines & Spirits during their Charity Month”, says Gina Chavez, resource development manager of Wellspring Calgary. “We thank you for all that you are doing for Wellspring Calgary and the members. We’re privileged to serve so that no one has to face cancer alone.”

The online silent auction will launch Monday, November 15 through Tuesday, November 30. Over 120 fabulous items–travel, exclusive wines, large format bottles, Trusted Expert hosted tastings, and unforgettable experiences will be available for bidding on Givergy (givergy.ca/WPWS2021).

Wellspring Calgary and Alberta Cancer Foundation will participate in wine raffles that WPWS have created with wines, beers, and spirits suppliers. The raffles will take place according to each charity’s own schedule and be managed by them. WPWS will offer customers the opportunity to buy tickets through social media campaigns and email newsletters. Once all the raffles are completed, official cheque presentations will take place in early 2022.
